Betty Thompson, 81, walked into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on the morning of Thursday, December 13, 2018 in Warner Robins.
Betty was born on May 26, 1937 in Jasper, Alabama to the late Lester and Roxie Mae O’Rear. She was a Civil Service retiree at Robins Air Force Base and devoted member of Christ United Methodist Church. Betty enjoyed being a member of the United Daughters of Confederacy (UDC) - Sidney Lanier Chapter and Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) – Sukey Hart Chapter. Betty had a great interest in genealogy and authored a book about her family tree. She leaves behind a family and countless friends who loved her dearly.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Larry and Guy O’Rear.
Betty’s memory will forever be treasured by her loving husband of 54 years, Frederick Thompson of Kathleen; children, Michael Thompson of Macon and Susan Thompson Lewis (Tim) of Elko; siblings, Pat Waller (Hugh) of Cochran, Dorothy Cook of Warner Robins, and Ronnie O’Rear (Sue) of Xenia, Ohio; and several adoring nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Sunday, December 16, 2018, from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Christ United Methodist Church. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the church with The Rev. Dr. Matt Stewart officiating. After the service, Betty will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
The family will accept flowers or donations may be given in memory of Mrs. Thompson to Christ United Methodist Church, 511 Russell Pkwy, Warner Robins, GA 31088.
McCullough Funeral Home and Crematory has the privilege of being entrusted with Mrs. Thompson’s arrangements.
