Jason Thomas O’Brien, 51, passed away peacefully on the morning of Saturday, June 20, 2020.
Mr. O’Brien was born on July 31, 1968, in Los Angeles, California. He grew up in Long Beach, Cypress, and Paradise, California and attended Paradise High School. Through the years, he had worked a number of jobs—his favorite of which was Walmart in Las Vegas. He was a stay-at-home dad when his children were small. Most recently, he worked in maintenance at Trinity United Methodist Church where he was also a faithful attendee. Mr. O’Brien was a talented guitarist. His musical abilities extended even to whistling. He could whistle anything! He had a heart of gold and loved people, but he also loved animals and possessed a natural ability to help and care for them. A handsome man, he had a great sense of humor and was known for cracking jokes.
However, it was his family that brought Mr. O’Brien the most joy in life. He loved his entire family and especially his children above all. He relocated to Warner Robins in 2010 to be close to his mother and his sister. He was protective of his family, and will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving children, Korey O’Brien of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Shana O’Brien, Christopher Zaccone, and Brandon “Bubba” Zaccone, all of Salt Lake City, Utah; his parents, Dale Wallander of Chico, California and Sandra Wherry of Warner Robins; his siblings, Shari Wallander of Warner Robins and Jon Wallander of Chico, California; his grandson, Korey O’Brien, Jr.; his niece and nephew, Katelyn and Jon Rose; and a host of other loving family members and friends.
A memorial service celebrating Jason's life will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. For friends unable to attend at this time, the service will be streamed live via the McCullough Funeral Home Facebook page at www.facebook.com/mcculloughfuneralhome/live/.
