Aaron D. Oliver, 92, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 31, 2015.
Aaron was born on July 17, 1922 in Westminster, South Carolina to the late Lonnie and Rosa Lee Oliver. He was a former member of Bible Baptist Temple, where he was involved in the bus ministry and taught the Boys Sunday School Class for many years. He enjoyed working with children and taking them to the creek to swim. Aaron later became a member of Green Acres Baptist Church. He was a Deacon for 32 years, combined between the two churches, until he stepped down due to hearing loss. Aaron proudly served in the United States Air Force during World War II, he then continued his career working in aircraft records at Robins Air Force Base. He was also a member of the American Legion. Aaron lived a long life of happiness, love, and ministering for his Lord and Savior.
Along with his parents; his brothers, Grover Oliver, Howard Oliver, Pierce Oliver, Eddie Oliver, Hugh Oliver; and sister, Monnell Rhodes, preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 61 years, Marie Barker Oliver; children, Charles Aaron Oliver (Sharon) of Byron, Eddie Lee Oliver (Debra) of Byron, Betty Marie Strawmier (Edward ) of Warner Robins, Linda Lucille Ruberti (Kim) of Warner Robins, eight grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 2, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Aaron will be laid to rest at Magnolia Park Cemetery with full military honors.
