Albert βAlβ Hlavaty, 84, passed away in his home on Tuesday, July 5, 2005. A Mass will be held at 9 a.m. on Thursday, July 7, 2005, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with private interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. A Rosary will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2005, at 7pm with visitation to follow until 9 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or Hospice of Houston County.
Mr. Hlavaty was born on January 10, 1921, in Shamokin, Pennsylvania, to the late Karl and Elizabeth Hlavaty. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mr. Hlavaty proudly served in the United States Army during WWII. He was retired from Robins Air Force Base.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy L. Hlavaty, Warner Robins; sons, Albert J. Hlavaty, Jr. (Kaye), Macon; George Hlavaty (Thea), Warner Robins; daughter, Suzanne (Ralph) Mixon, Bonaire; brother, Thomas Hlavaty, Fargo, N.D.; grandchildren, James R. Drinnon, III (Aileen); Steven J. Drinnon (Jenny); George Greg Hlavaty (Jenn); Kyle Mixon; Matthew W. Hlavaty; Melissa Hlavaty; Christopher Mixon; Katie Hlavaty; and five great-grandchildren.
