Alex C. Harrison, Jr.

Mr. Alex Corbin Harrison, Jr., 74, entered into rest on Thursday, July 29, 2010.

Mr. Harrison was born on November 6, 1935 in Westminster, South Carolina. He was a faithful member of Bonaire First Baptist Church and the Dan Erickson Sunday School Class. Alex was a veteran, proudly serving his country in the United States Army. He retired from Robins Air Force Base where he worked in civil service. A timeless community servant, Mr. Harrison was a Mason and a Shriner. He was past Master of Jeffersonville Lodge #133, a member of Mickey Fuller Lodge #178. He was past President of Houston County Shrine Club. He also served as Potentate of the Al Sihah Shrine Temple in 1999 and 2002 and as Treasurer in 2001. In addition he served as President of the Cabiri for two years, past Director of Royal Order of Jester's court #146. Alex was also a member of Klassic Auto Unit of Macon, Georgia. His parents, Alex Corbin Harrison, Sr., and Lila Maedell Medlin Harrison, and siblings, Mary Alice Ovialene Newton, Stella Lydia Totty, David Henry Harrison, and Norman Edward Harrison, all preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his beloved wife, Janice Bowman Harrison, Bonaire; children, Bruce Harrison, Tammy Happel (Tommy); Jeff Harrison (Maggie); and Rodney Harrison (Karen); eight grandchildren, Alan Happel, Corbin Harrison, Cassie Harrison, Tommy Harrison, J.T. Harrison, Heather Harrison, Melanie Jenkins, and Cameron Harrison; five great grandchildren; siblings, Helen Mohoda Johnson, Joe Harrison (Maggi), Milton Harrison, Roberley Jacobson (David), Delmar Harrison (Diana), Billy Ray Harrison (Evelyn), Deborah Herd (JC), and Bruce Harrison (Rachel); and so many other loving relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Saturday evening, July 31, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 1, 2010, at Bonaire First Baptist Church with Pastor Kenny Rodgers officiating. Interment will follow in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Al Sihah Shrine Transportation Fund at Al Sihah Shrine Temple, P.O. Box 3147, Macon, Georgia 31205-3147.
