Alexander Norris “Mac” McLeroy, 88, passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2005. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 7, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Donations may be made to the Friendship Baptist Chapel Building Fund, 635 Twin Bridges Road SW, Eatonton, Georgia 31024-6907.
Mr. McLeroy was born in Eatonton, Georgia on May 7, 1916 to the late Edward and Annie Kate McLeroy. He was a member and former deacon of Friendship Baptist Chapel where he attended the Men’s Sunday School Class. He was retired form Civil Sevice on Robins Air Force Base, where he worked as a Procurement Supervisor. Mr. McLeroy was a Veteran of the United States Army, where he proudly served during World War II. He also completed many aircraft battle assessments behind enemy lines during the Vietnam Era. Mr. McLeroy started the Putnam County Volunteer Fire Department on Twin Bridges Road in Eatonton, Georgia. He was a past President of the Warner Robins AFGE Local 987. In addition to his parents, two sisters, five brothers and two grandchildren preceded him in death.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 67 years, Allie Mason McLeroy, Warner Robins; two sons, Allen Norris McLeroy and wife, Linda, Dillard; Marcus G. McLeroy and wife, Elizabeth, Marietta; two daughters, Sharon Mullis, Centerville, Georgia; Wanda Jarzynka and husband, Don, Bonaire; sister, Lillian Spiller, Macon; brother, Sam McLeroy, Eatonton; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
