Alfred Albert Allen

Alfred Albert Allen transitioned on Thursday, February 27, 2020, at the age of 78 years old, in Kathleen, GA, USA. Alfred was born to Thomas and Ersielyn Allen on the 22nd of December 1941 in Marlie Hill, Manchester, Jamaica. Alfred grew up in Marlie Hill, a place he always loved and spoke of with such fondness. It was there that he developed a love of nature, gardening, and pets. His recent pet dogs were called Marley and Peaches. Alfred married his wife, Cynthia Samms, on the 3rd of August 1963 in Ipswich, Suffolk, England. They went on to have seven children. Alfred worked at Cranes Engineering as a machinist for 34 years, from February 1969 to March 2003, and has been retired since this date. Later that year he emigrated to the United States with his wife, Cynthia, and daughter, Nicki.

Alfred became a Christian in the late 1960s, and he was very passionate about his faith and the Bible. In 2004 he became a Pastor and shortly after that he was ordained as an Elder. Alfred had a warm, loving heart and was very entertaining. He would say "What's up, squire" when greeting someone and then say "Take it easy" as he left their presence. His humor was punctuated with weird facial expressions. He was a born joker!!

He is survived by his wife Cynthia; his children, Jennifer, June, Marcia, Andrew, Nikisha and Daniel; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; plus one great-grandchild due in April 2020.

Mr. Allen was preceded in death by his son, David, who transitioned on the 6th of November, 2012.

The family will accept friends during visitation on Friday, March 6, 2020, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Alfred will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2020.
