Alfred Marcus “Mark” Moore, 72, entered into rest on November 12, 2023.
Mark was born on July 1, 1951, in Quitman, Mississippi to the late Alfred Lewis and Laverne Johnston Moore. He was raised in Mobile, Alabama until middle school, at which point he relocated to Warner Robins in 1965. From there, he attended and eventually graduated from Northside High School in 1969. After graduating, he would attend Georgia Southern University before enlisting in the Army National Guard Reserves. He would then return to Georgia Southern University and join the Delta Tau Delta fraternity, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in business. After college, he began selling men’s clothing at Stephen’s in Macon as well as a few other men’s stores. Mark opened his own business, Mark Moore Wall Coverings, where he sold and installed wallpaper in homes and businesses all around middle Georgia for thirty years. In 2003, he started Santa Mark which took him all around middle Georgia, offering the joy of the Christmas season. He was proud of his PhD from Santa School and his membership in AORBS, The Amalgamated Order of Real Bearded Santas. This inspired others around town to join him in doing the same. He made appearances in events such as the Centerville Parade, Christmas Made in the South, Mistletoe Market, Christmas Eve cookies with Santa for 13 WMAZ, serving as Santa for Jay’s Hope, MOPS, and visiting schools, as well as countless other events to bring joy to so many. He also had the exciting opportunity of appearing in several commercials for companies such as Yelverton’s, Lowe Toyota, and Satterfield and Dempsey. In his free time, Mark was a driver for Enterprise for nine years and also enjoyed woodworking, and shopping, particularly Black Friday shopping with his girls.
In addition to his parents, Mark was preceded in death by his wife, Terry Ann Moore.
His memory will forever be treasured by his daughters, Katie Moore Graham (Eric) of Bonaire, Audrey Moore Randall (Justin) of Perry, and Stacie English Halpin (Sean) of Cochran; grandchildren, Gavin Graham, Sawyer Graham, Olivia Randall, Carter Randall, and Dillon Randall, and Alyssa Nawrocki; brother, Ronnie Moore (Charlotte) of Warner Robins; niece and nephew, Chris Moore and Jenny Sutherland, along with many other loving family members and friends.
