Alice Teresa "Terry" Haught entered into rest with her Lord on Sunday, September 7, 2014. Born in Brunswick, Georgia on July 14, 1944, Terry was a graduate of Glynn Academy. After high school, she attended the University of Georgia where she was an avid tennis player and was captain of the Women's Tennis Team and Secretary of the Women's Athletic Association. After earning her Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary English, she continued to further her education by attaining a masters and a six-year degree in education. Following her husband, Tucker, to Florida, Terry began her journey as an educator. After their move to Warner Robins, she continued to share her love of literature as a middle grades teacher in the Houston County School System. A true scholar of the written word, Terry had a lasting impact upon her students during her career as a language arts teacher in Houston County. Upon retirement, Terry and Tucker settled in Culloden, Georgia, where they are active members of Russellville Baptist Church. Terry was a treasured member of the Merry Hearts Ladies Group. Her father, Edward Arthur Foster, and sister, Lynn Foster Manning, both preceded her in death.
Terry's memory will be forever treasured by Tucker, her loving husband of forty-eight years, as well as her devoted children, Brian Haught (Monikue), and Marcia Haught Haymans (Bryan). Terry was especially proud of her three grandchildren, Tyler, Dalton, and Cameron Haymans, and immensely enjoyed her role as a grandmother. She is also survived by her mother, Alice Dugger Foster; sisters, Lorena Foster Sweeney (Gary) of Jackson, GA; Debbie Foster Wilson (Glynn) of Brunswick, GA; and a brother, Neil Richard Foster (Sharon), also of Brunswick, GA. Additionally she is survived by her nieces: Lyndsay Sweeney; Tasha Wilson Shattuck (Chad); Anna Foster; Sara Foster; Heather Wilson; Grace Foster; Jessie Foster; Stacie Parrish Waters (Steve); and nephews: Ryan Sweeney (fiancé, Lauren Hegner); Jonathan Foster, and Issac Richard Foster.
