Allen Winsor Beavers, 68, passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2005 at the Medical Center of Central Georgia. Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 12, 2005 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 11, 2005 from 6 until 8 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to American Diabetes Association, One Corporate Square, Atlanta Georgia, 30329 or the American Kidney Fund, P O Box 96507, Washington D.C 20077 .
Mr. Beavers was born in Vienna, Georgia on December 11, 1936. He was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Vienna, Georgia. He retired from civil service at Robins Air Force Base were he worked as a Supply Technician for 37 ½ years. He served in the United States Army and was an avid gardener and fisherman. His father, Johnny Beavers, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Ethel Beavers, Perry; children, Diana Parkerson (Allen), Warner Robins; Scott Beavers (Donna), Vienna; Kelvin Cannington (Patty), Ft. Walton Beach, Florida; mother, Ida Mae Beavers, Cordele; grandchildren, Brian Beavers, Bradly Beavers, and Emily Cannington; sisters, Bobby Williams, Ft. Valley; Wanda Williams, Cordele; Elizabeth Johnson, Vienna; brother and sister- in- law, Clyde Deaton (Mary), Lexington, Kentucky; sister- in- law, Helen Ashcraft, Lexington, Kentucky; several nieces and nephews.
