Allene Sigman Grace

Allene Sigman Grace, 91, entered into rest on Wednesday, March 30, 2011.

Visitation will be Saturday, April 2, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2011, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Parkway Memorial Gardens.

Ms. Grace, a native of Sparta, Georgia was born on May 19, 1919 in Sparta. She worked at the Naval Ordinance Plant during World War II in support of our soldiers overseas. She then worked at Robins Air Force Base until her retirement in 1975. After her retirement, Ms. Grace started Grace Tours and Middle Georgia Travelers, where she offered travel tours throughout the United States. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Centerville and the Fellowship Sunday School Class. Allene was an active member of The National Association of Retired Federal Employees, Chapter 1020, from which she received national recognition for recruiting 158 members one year. She was also a member of AARP; Centerville Senior Citizens Club; Warner Robins Senior Citizens Club; Houston County Senior Citizens Club; Sunshine Band; and AFGE Local 987.

Allene was preceded in death by her parents; Grover Middlebrooks Sigman and Ruth Hight Sigman; sisters, Julia S. Hammett and Mary S. McCurdy; and brother, Thomas Sigman.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her daughter, Brenda G. Lord (Ralph); son, Ronald B. Grace (Patricia); sister-in-law, Hortense M. Sigman, Sparta; nephews, Thomas M. Sigman, Jr., Steve Sigman, and Grover Sigman; and two grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Dr. Steven Wilson and the Church Home for the Aged for the excellent care she received.
