Alma Carter Hollis, 70, entered into rest on Tuesday, June 11, 2013.
Alma was born on March 5, 1943 in Byron, Georgia and was a wonderful and loving homemaker. She was a charter member of Trinity United Methodist Church and Centerville United Methodist Church where she was in the Christian Heritage Sunday School Class. Alma was also a much-loved member of many organizations within the community including: UMW (United Methodist Women), Houston Chapter 383, Order of Eastern Star – Martha Berry 351, the Red Hat Society, Daughter of the Nile, and was a past member of the Matron and Patron Clubs. Her parents, Fred W. and Alma Boutwell Carter; and brothers, Warren and Charles Carter, preceded her in death.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Jennifer Daniel (Barry), Benita Day and Andy Hollis; four grandchildren, Sarah, Amanda-Beth, Garrett and Ryan; four great-grandchildren; siblings, Leroy Carter (Mary Lee) and Amanda Bentley (Neal); sisters-in-law, Lois and Barbara Carter; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, June 14, 2013, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at Centerville United Methodist Church with interment following in Parkway Memorial Gardens. The family will accept flowers or donations may be given to Shriners Children's Hospital, c/o Al Sihah Shrine, P.O. Box 3147, Macon, GA 31205 or to Methodist Home for Children & Youth, 304 Pierce Ave., Macon, GA 31204.
