Alton V. "Monty" Montgomery, Jr.

In the early afternoon hours of Tuesday, May 11, 2016 Alton V. Montgomery, Jr., 78, passed away at the Coliseum Medical Center in Macon, Georgia. He was born on September 1, 1937 in Many, Louisiana to the late Alton, Sr. and Nettie McLaud Montgomery. With great pride and honor Monty served in the United States Air Force as a Safety Engineer, retiring after 20 years of service. Following his years in active duty, he began his Civil Service career at Robins Air Force Base where he worked for 22 years until his retirement. Monty was a 32nd degree Master Mason and Scottish Rite achieving the status of KCCH after 53 years. He was a Past Worthy Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star and Past Royal Patron of the Order of the Amaranth.

Along with his parents, his first wife, Beverly Ann Lennon Montgomery, preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife, Debra Montgomery of Byron; sons, Charles Alton Montgomery of Douglas; Michael Alton Montgomery (Stephanie) of Warner Robins; stepson, Michael Todd Garrison of Byron; 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and sister, Betty Rials of Layfette, Louisiana.

Visitation with Monty's family will be Saturday, May 14, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A memorial services will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of McCullough where Masonic Rites will be rendered.

The family will accept flowers or donations may be given in memory of Alton V. "Monty" Montgomery, Jr. to the Diabetic Research, Grand Court of Georgia 6905 Silver Maple Trail, Fairburn, Ga 30213.
