Alva loved her church and the many hours she served in various positions including visiting teaching, and Relief Society President. She enjoyed genealogy research and continued to explore and complete many of the family records that her mother had begun.
Alva was devoted to her family and will be remembered fondly for her love of providing Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners, which she hosted for many years. In earlier years, she loved the beach and any body of water she could enjoy with her children.
Anyone sitting next to her in church would recognize Alva’s beautiful soprano voice. Her family will remember her delight in listening to 40s and 50s music with special interest in Patsy Cline songs. She had a great love for animals, in particular, her beloved dogs, “Charlie,” “Toby,” and “Bitsey.” She spoke of missing them often. What a wonderful reunion she will have at the Rainbow Bridge!
Alva retired from RAFB, having worked many years in household goods. She continued to work as office manager and bookkeeper for a family owned aviation business. Alva completed her long career, working into her 70s as an emergency room admissions clerk.
Sweet Mama/Granny, what a legacy you have left for us to cherish and honor. We look so forward to reuniting with you soon. So for now… ‘til we meet again, sweet angel.
