Alvin L. Hooper, 86, passed away at his residence on Thursday, July 4, 2024. He was born on November 25, 1937, in Commerce, Georgia, to the late William A. and Eva L. Vickery Hooper. However, he was raised in Carnesville, Georgia and lived most of his life in Warner Robins.

Alvin proudly served his country in the United States Navy before beginning a career that took him to Cape Canaveral and later to Robins Air Force Base.

He shared a wonderful life with his beloved wife, traveling the world together and creating lasting memories. They created a family tradition of taking all of their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren on annual summer vacations, and this grew to be the highlight of their year. No matter how far apart the family was scattered, they could always count on spending a week full of making memories with everyone that would last forever.

Upon retirement, Alvin enjoyed building model trains, a hobby that he enjoyed sharing with each of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His skills and craftsmanship were evident in the detailed landscapes that he created, and he invited everyone to participate and contribute to building his world with him.

Known for his dry sense of humor, Alvin was a beloved character in the lives of his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all of those who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, Alvin was preceded in death by his siblings, Mary S. Payne, Nelda Taylor and William V. Sears. He is survived by his sisters Joyce Minor and Linda Pryor.

Alvin is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Gussie “Faye” Pace Hooper of Warner Robins; children, Kim Brown (Jeff) of Hull, and Wesley Hooper of Mount Airy; stepchildren, Kim Treece of Warner Robins, Tim Treece (Paula) of Johnson City, Tennessee, and Carol Powell (Veith) of Fort Valley; grandchildren, Alex Brown (Anna), Justin Waldorf (Emily), Jennifer Hulbert (Matthew), Erika Trice (Eric), Elizabeth Treece, Sarah Treece, and Dylan Treece; great-grandchildren, Madison, Match, Junia, Merritt, Lucy, and Maverick; and beloved nieces and nephews, along with a host of extended family members and friends.
