At sunrise on Sunday, August 25, 2024, Andres Gamboa, 84, peacefully transcended.
Andres was born on December 26, 1939, in Cali, Colombia, to the late Isaias Gamboa and Angelina Ruiz Gamboa. His family was his beacon. He found joy in celebrating the accomplishments of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He loved strumming his guitar, singing with his siblings, and spending time at his cherished family homestead. Above all else, he adored Sandy, his beloved wife.
As a renowned architect, Andres established a legacy for his subtle, minimalist approach to design. He elegantly combined modern and traditional elements to create spaces that established deep connections to their surroundings.
Andres’ love for the simplicity in beauty was also evident in his watercolors, capturing delicate moments with grace. His family and many friends cherish these paintings as a testament to his gentle spirit and artistic vision.
His warmth and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Andres leaves behind a legacy of love, survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, Sandra Jean Gamboa; his children, Felipe Gamboa (Cindy Gamboa), Juan Pablo Gamboa, Santiago Gamboa (Maribell Gonzalez), and Juliana Gamboa (Mario Hernandez); grandchildren, Christina Gamboa Aquino (Captain Kyle Aquino, USAF), Andrea Gamboa, Santiago Gamboa, Mariana Gamboa, Juan Martin Gamboa, Mateo Gamboa, Pia Hernandez, and Lucas Hernandez. He is also survived by great-grandchildren Delilah Robbins, Ronan Strickland, and Ryker Strickland, his brother Horacio Gamboa, and his nieces and nephews, as well as fur pets, Choco and Juanita.
A Rosary will be recited at 4:20 p.m. on Friday, August 30, 2024, with visitation for family and friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home (417 South Houston Lake Road, Warner Robins, GA 31088).
