Angelo Verdane Raffield, Sr.

Angelo Verdane Raffield, Sr., 82, entered into rest on April 27, 2009.

Mr. Raffield was born on August 30, 1926 in Irwin County, Georgia. With pride and honor, he served his country in the United States Navy and active in World War II. After his military career, he worked as a professional painter for private contractors. He called Union Primitive Baptist Church his church home. He was preceded in death by his wife, June Raffield, sons, Donnie Raffield and Terry Griffin; and parents, Daniel Franklin Raffield and Ruby Earline Barnes Raffield.

His memory will forever be treasured by his children, Robin Martin, Angelo Raffield, Jr., Judy Roberts, Janice McCarter and Joy Fletcher, and step-children; eighteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 28, 2009 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home, Elder Philips Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
