On the morning of Saturday, February 24, 2024, Mrs. Anita Prichard passed away peacefully. Forever a lady, Anita believed a woman never told her age and we have been forbidden to mention it here. Born Anita LaBansat on August 6th in La Bastide-Clairence, France, she survived growing up in France during World War II. She once even saw Adolf Hitler in person. When the American soldiers were still in France, Anita met the love of her life, William David Prichard. Anita became an American citizen at the age of 21 when she began her wonderful journey as a supportive, military spouse.
Anita was known to be quite a classy lady. She always had her red lipstick and high heels on, enjoyed a good glass of wine, pizza on a Friday night, and a night out dancing. Everyone remembers her even cutting grass and riding her bicycle with her heels on.
Anita was preceded in death by her husband, William Prichard, son, Roger Prichard, Sr, and daughter, Linda Prichard Barfield.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Gina (Garlan “Buff”) Buffington of Cochran, GA, son-in-law, Eddie Barfield of Perry, GA; grandchildren, Tyler (Donna) Barfield of Perry, GA, Roger (Tanzania) Prichard of Atlanta, GA, Gabrielle (Jody) Stembridge of Perry, GA; great-grandchildren, Macy Irwin, Brooks Barfield, and Camille Stembridge.
A memorial gathering will be held Wednesday, February 28, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to Georgia Hospice Care, 1111 Hillcrest Pkwy Ste 1202C, Dublin, GA 31021.
