Ann Gilbreath, a cherished member of our community, passed away on November 18, 2023, at Pine Pointe Hospice in Macon, Georgia. She was 78 years old.
Ann was born on January 22, 1945, in Grimsby, England, where she was raised. She completed her secondary education at Chelmsford. In 1960, she commenced her professional career at Lawson’s and Stockdale Department Store, dedicating herself to her work until a fateful holiday in 1966 brought her to the United States. Falling in love with the country, Ann decided to make it her home and moved to Warner Robins in 1972.
A year later, Ann found love and companionship when she married her husband, who served in the Air Force. Their journey took them all over the world before they established roots in Warner Robins in 1985. Ann contributed to her community by working at the Houston County Hospital switchboard and later serving as the church secretary for Trinity and Northview UMC. Ann was a longtime member of Northview UMC and had previously been a member of Trinity UMC where she participated in the Becomers Sunday School Class. At both places, she made deep connections within the church community.
In her spare time, she found joy in RV camping, and collecting memorabilia. She was renowned for her exceptional memory and took great pride in her homemaking skills. Her home was graced by the presence of two beloved pets, "Chester" and "Mittens,"
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Edward and Rebecca Washington Page.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving husband of 50 years, Cople Everett Gilbreath of Warner Robins; siblings, Margaret Vera Moore (David) of Wakefield, UK, and Roy Page (Janet) of York, UK; siblings-in-law, Deborah Susanne Miller (Bobby) of Longwood, Florida; and niece, Rachel Snowdon (Gareth) of Wakefield, UK; as well as other extended family members and friends.
