Ann Hallman Stafford

Ann Hallman Stafford of Centerville, Georgia, age 87, passed away on the morning of November 11, 2023. She was a graduate of A. L. Miller High School in 1953, Reinhardt College in 1956, and Wesleyan College in 1958.  Ann was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Centerville for over fifty years, where she actively participated in the United Methodist Women, sang in the church choir, taught Sunday school, started Partners In Prayer, and served as a member of the Mary Pritchett Circle. She worked at Robins Air Force Base and the Department of Family and Children’s Services in Bibb County and served as a substitute teacher at Westside Elementary School and as the Program Director at her church for many years.  She enjoyed her bowling league and playing cards with her friends every week for many years.  What people will remember most about Ann is her dedication to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, her beloved family, and her church, where she spent much of her time ministering to the elderly and the homebound. Her granddaughter, Haden, was her heart, and they spent many cherished times together over the years.  Ann is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 39 years, the late Joseph Sherrill Stafford (married on April 14, 1961), and her parents, Kathleen and John Judson Hallman of Bibb County.  Survivors include her daughter, Laura Poythress (Hal), her daughter, Dorothy Stafford, her granddaughter, Haden Poythress, her brother, John Judson Hallman, Jr., her niece, Lyn Parrish (Hal), and her nephews, Jay (Jana) and Jeff Hallman.  Visitation and funeral services for Ann will be held at McCullough Funeral Home at 417 S. Houston Lake Rd. in Warner Robins, GA on Tuesday, November 14th (visitation 12:00pm-1:00pm; memorial service 1:00pm).
