Annie "Peggy" Lanehart, 85, entered into rest on Saturday, October 10, 2009.
Ms. Lanehart was born on March 28, 1924 in Natchez, Mississippi. While living and raising a family in Natchez, Mississippi, she was a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy and the National Genealogy Association. She moved to Warner Robins, Georgia in 1966 to work at Robins Air Force Base and retired after more than twenty years of service. An avid reader, she enjoyed cooking and also had a great passion for history and historic preservation. She was a Presbyterian by faith, She was predeceased by her daughter, Leona Williams, grandson, Rory Carnes, and parents, Harry King Barth and Annie McClure Barth.
She is survived by her daughters, Beth Huff (Richard), Warner Robins, Julia Nicholson (Richard), Bonaire, and Christie Whitney, Natchez, Mississippi; son, Ted Lanehart, Jr., Calhoun, Georgia; eight grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday, October 12, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 14, 2009 in Natchez City Cemetery, Natchez, Mississippi. Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be given to Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Drive, Warner Robins GA 31088.
