Annie Eunice Hubble, 95, entered into rest on Monday, May 12, 2014.
Annie was born on January 1, 1919 in Say, Virginia to the late Thomas W. and Mattie Helton Slate. She worked in the lunch room of Rumble Junior High School and retired from Houston Medical Center as a dietician. After retiring from the Houston Medical Center, at 84 years of age, she went to work for Chick-Fil-A. Mrs. Hubble was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church where she was also a Sunday school teacher.
She was a tireless servant to the community, donating volunteer work to many organizations including: the soup kitchen at First United Methodist Church, the Eastern Star, being a Scout Leader, and former president of the Old Fellars Lodge. Mrs. Hubble donated over 25, 000 hours with the Pink Ladies at Houston Medical Center.
Her husband, Roye Newton Hubble; son, Roye Ralph Hubble; parents, siblings, Stafford Slate, Russell Slate, Hubert Slate, Bascom Slate, George Slate, Audie Miller, Burtis Slate, John Slate, and Rufus Slate preceded her in death.
Annie's memory will forever be treasured by her grandchildren, Joye Oglesby and Brian Hubble; adopted daughter, Sarah Dees; adopted grandchildren, Shannon Ross, Stephen Smith, Malcolm Smith, and Megan Dees; Roye Oglesby and thirteen other great-grandchildren; former daughter-in-law, Susie Hubble; and several loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 14, 2014, from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at First United Methodist Church Warner Robins with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
