On Sunday, November 7, 2021, Anthony E. Rogers, loving father, grandfather, brother and husband, passed away at age 64. He is gone but will never be forgotten.
Born in Macon, GA on May 27, 1957, Anthony was the son of the late Floyd S. and Myrtice Jenkins Rogers and was of the Baptist faith. He proudly served his country with the Air Police in the United States Air Force, and following his time in the military, continued service to his local community as a firefighter. With honor, Anthony retired from the Warner Robins Fire Department having attained the rank of Lieutenant. Keeping both his country and public safe was not all that he set out to do in his life. Anthony also had a genuine desire to keep people healthy. He served as a certified respiratory therapist and was the Director of Respiratory Therapy at Houston Healthcare for a time, as well. To boot, Anthony was a successful entrepreneur having owned several businesses throughout the middle Georgia area, to include Georgia Peach Shuttle.
Soft-hearted and humble, Anthony was an avid pet lover who loved to play golf in his free time, but spending time with his sons and grandsons was where he was most content. And though he was generally a quiet man, he had a great sense of humor and was always joking around. Sadly, over the years, Anthony fought a long, hard battle with cancer and some other illnesses, however, his strong will and the love and prayers of family, friends, and many supporters carried him through. He was an inspiration to all who knew him.
Surviving are his loving sons, Robert Christopher Rogers (Halley) and Anthony Quinton Rogers, both of GA, and Michael Justin Rogers of FL; grandchildren, Toni Nicole Rogers, Michael Justin Rogers, Jr. and Donald Keith Rogers; siblings, Shirley Austin (Bob) of GA and Larry Cowan of FL; and wife, Jeannie Rogers.
Anthony’s family will receive friends for a memorial gathering on Thursday, November 11, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. His life will be celebrated with a memorial service on Friday, November 12, 2021, at 10:00 a.m., in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home, Dr. Paul Cowles officiating. Anthony will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery, with a private graveside service for his family.
The family will accept flowers or donations may be given in memory of Anthony to the American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry St., Ste. A., Macon, GA 31201.
