99-year-old WWII Army Vet, Archie Brown Sealy, Sr., passed into the hands of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on the morning of Tuesday, August 16, 2022. He was reunited in Heaven with his beloved wife, Alice Inez Sealy; his parents, Herbert A. and Mary Brown Sealy; his daughters, Linda Pitts and Barbara Ann Sealy; his grandson, Richard Dunn; and his sister, Mildred Bazemore.
Born in Atlanta, GA on February 27, 1923, Brown graduated from Chapman Springs Technical School with a machinist certificate and joined the United States Army in June of 1943. He proudly served under the command of Gen. George S. Patton with the Third Army 66th Armored Field Artillery Battalion Service Company. Brown was a decorated Army man having received the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign (EAME) Medal, the Bronze Star, a Good Conduct Medal and a WWII Victory Medal. He served his country with honor until April of 1946. Following his military career, Brown was self-employed for a number of years. His most recent job was as a service technician with Morgan Oil Company before he finally retired. Butler United Methodist was his church home.
He is survived by his loving children, Alice Hewett (Ronny) of Butler, Mary Dent (Danny) of Reynolds and Archie Brown Sealy, Jr. (Laura) of Gordon; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Brown will be laid to rest with a graveside memorial service at Howard United Methodist Church Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 18, 2022, with Rev. Phillip Cook and Rev. Archie Brown Sealy, Jr. officiating.
