Arthur DeWitt Pinson passed away on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, surrounded by family and the memories of 96 years well-lived. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Marvell Taylor Pinson; his parents, Jeff Arthur and Ida Pearl Pinson; and other family members and friends who passed before him.
DeWitt was born on December 28, 1924, in Thomaston, Georgia and was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy. Subsequent to his time in the military, he continued to serve his country in Civil Service as a pipe fitter. DeWitt enjoyed this field and utilized his experience and knowledge to start Pinson Plumbing and Heating which he owned and operated for a number of years. He was also the owner of Cherry Blossom Healthcare for several years. When he wasn’t tending to one of his businesses, you could find DeWitt in the outdoors. He was an avid deer hunter and absolutely loved the lake life. Lake Country Baptist was his church home.
Survivors include his loving daughters, Pam Ayer (Wayne) of Warner Robins and Denise Roberts (Michael) of Monroe; grandchildren, Jessica Welch (Taylor), Katelyn Snell (Justin), Ariel Manning (Brock), Kaitlyn Ayer and Jessica Ayer; great-grandchildren, Savannah and Cannon Snell and Piper Welch; and sister, Bernice Davis of Madison, Georgia.
DeWitt’s family will receive friends at McCullough Funeral Home on Friday, August 6, 2021, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. He will be laid to rest with a graveside funeral service at 3:30 p.m., in the chapel of Parkway Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
