Arthur Flores Orta passed away on February 22, 2021 at the age of 66.
Born on July 28, 1954 in San Antonio, Texas, he was the son of the late Trinidad L. Orta and Irene Flores Orta. He was a graduate of McCollum High School and attended Sul Ross State University. He began his civil service career as an aircraft mechanic at Kelly Air Force Base and retired as the C-5 Master Scheduler at Robins Air Force Base.
Arthur worked tirelessly to provide for his wife and children, and lived to spend time with his four grandchildren. However, he was happiest during his weekly poker nights and trips to Biloxi with his friends and family.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary Jo Orta; children, Andres Orta, Richard Orta (Trisha), and Stephanie English; sister Judi Gamez (Rusty); brothers-in-law Leonard Lozano and Roy Lozano; four grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his sister Belinda Orta, his mother and father-in-law, Tony and Mary Lozano, sisters-in-law Rachel Lozano and Charlotte Lozano, and son-in-law, Chris English.
At the family’s request, services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Arthur's memory to Georgia Canine Rescue Rehab, 235 Mac Thompson Road, Cochran, GA 31014.
