Arthur J. “Art” Kiser, 84, passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2005 at Regency Hospital. Services will be held 2:00 PM at Sunday, November 6, 2005 at Shirley Hills Baptist Church with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, November 5, 2005 from 5 until 7 PM at McCullough Funeral Home. The family suggests donations be made to The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 6931 Arlington Road, Bethesda, Maryland 20814.
Mr. Kiser was born in Athens, Georgia on June 5, 1921. He was a member of Shirley Hills Baptist Church. He retired from civil service at Robins Air Force Base and served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He was a former president of the Warner Robins Lions Club where he was the Lion of the year for two years and was active with Cystic Fibrosis. His wife, Juanita Tarpley Kiser and son, Ricky Kiser; parents, Virgil and Etta Kiser; brothers, Ray Kiser; Ralph Kiser; Roy Kiser; twin brother, Oscar Kiser, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his sister-in-laws, Ann Kiser, Warner Robins; Becky Tarpley, Atlanta; brother-in-laws, Lamar Tarpley (Myrtle), Albany; Jack Tarpley (Beverly), Dalton; Bob Tarpley (Lou), South Carolina; Harry Tarpley, Sr., Tennessee; niece s, Montine Hammond, Athens; Hazel Henderson, Danielsville; Cybil Langley, Winder; Louise Kiser, Warner Robins; Wanda Williamson, Alabama; Sandi Carnot, Florida; Donna Groberg, Perry; nephews, James Kiser, Tennessee; Perry Kiser, Perry; adopted family, Larry Crutchfield (Pennie) and children, Deena and Cassy Crutchfield, Warner Robins; former wife of Ricky Kiser, Susan Cooper.
