Arthur Owen “Junior” Smith, Jr.

Arthur Owen “Junior” Smith, Jr., 93, passed away in the early morning hours of Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at The Oaks of Marshallville. Born to the late Mr. Arthur Owen Smith, Sr. and Mrs. Annie Mae O’Neal Smith. Junior was a middle child of six children. He is now reunited with his parents, beloved wife, Rosa Novelene Johnson Smith, and five siblings, J.C. Smith, Ed Smith, Isabelle Pitt, Myrtle Yancey, and one infant sibling.

Junior was a longtime resident of Warner Robins, where he spent many years working in electronics at Robins Air Force Base before retiring. Junior was proud member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans and an avid golfer. After retirement he continued to play on the greens regularly, often defeating his son in friendly rounds.

In 2022, Junior’s beloved wife, Rosa, passed away, and Junior became a widower. During that time, he found comfort and strength in his son, Gary Owen Smith (Shay Lynn); his grandchildren, Brittany and Matthew Smith; and his great-grandchildren, Jayden Peppers and Marleigh Smith. Junior will also be deeply missed by his beloved nieces, nephews, other extended family members and friends.

A memorial gathering will take place on Friday, March 21, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home, followed by a memorial service honoring Junior’s life at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. In keeping Junior’s wishes, Junior will be laid to rest at Rockwell Baptist Church Cemetery, Milan, Georgia, at a private service.
