Artie Jackson Ware

June 24, 1953 — January 18, 2021

Artie Ware, age 67, went to be with the Lord on January 18, 2021.

Artie was born on June 24, 1953, in Atlanta and grew up there, attending elementary and high school in the Fulton County Public School System. After high school, in 1973, Artie joined the U.S. Army. After attending college, he worked as a recycling supervisor at Graphic Packaging until his retirement.

Artie had a love for life that was evident by the smile that was always on his face. He loved music and played both the guitar and keyboard. He enjoyed the outdoors, where he spent a good deal of time fishing or golfing until his health declined. He also appreciated playing a few rounds of Bingo and was known for his ability to fix pretty much anything!

Preceding him in death were his mother, Betty Jean Ware, brother, Wayne Ware, and sister, Brenda Ware.

Those who remain to cherish the memory of Artie include his wife of 35 years, Sherlene Ware; father, Wallace Jackson (Mahallie); daughter, Angela James (Jerome) of Perry; brother, Randy Ware (Brenda) and sister, Karen Jackson, both of Atlanta; sisters-in-law, Katie Curry (Rev. Jim) and Clara Clay, both of Macon; and brother-in-law, James Clay of Macon; and devoted nephew, Jefferson Wyche (Teisha) of Warner Robins.

An outdoor memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. under the chapel portico at McCullough Funeral Home. Reverend Jim Curry will officiate.
