Audrey Ivey Gibson Dees, beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2025. She was born on February 13, 1957, in Macon, Georgia, to the late Charles and Pauline Horne Gibson.
Audrey’s journey through life was marked by both grace and dedication. After graduating from Northside High School, she went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from Georgia College and State University, laying the foundation for a fulfilling career. Audrey married Robert Edward Dees on August 27, 1977, and together they shared a life full of love, joy, and mutual respect.
Audrey retired in February of 2019 after many years in banking. She finished her professional journey at Houston Health Care, where she was known for her kindness, hard work, and commitment.
A woman of deep faith, Audrey was a devoted member of Friendship Baptist Church at Lake Sinclair, where she found comfort and strength in her relationship with God. She cherished the bonds of her church community and was always ready to lend a hand to those in need.
She loved her family more than anything, and her greatest joy was spending time with her loved ones, whether it was sharing a laugh or simply being present with them. Audrey’s sense of humor was infectious, and her ability to make others smile was one of her many gifts. She also found peace and happiness in her lakefront home, where she enjoyed the tranquility of nature and the joy of lakeside living.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her son, Robert E. Dees, Jr. (Jean); siblings, Thomas C. Gibson (Anita), Robert D. Gibson (Cindy), Mark Gibson, Marjorie A. Binegar (Scott), Virginia E. Wyatt (Bill Coley), and Donna M. Prakas (Tom).
Visitation will be on Saturday, March 8, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m,. at McCullough Funeral Home with a funeral service immediately following in the chapel. Afterward, Audrey will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
