Avel C. Braddy, 83, passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2006. Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 15, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Second Baptist Church Building Fund 2504 Moody RD Warner Robins, GA 31088.
Mrs. Avel Braddy was born on February 1, 1923 in Wheeler County, GA to the late Henry R. and Winnie C. Clark of Alamo, GA. She was the first person to convert to Second Baptist Church, where she was a charter member for over fifty years, teaching adult and children’s Sunday school classes and participating in many other activities in the church. She was a member of the Faith Sunday School class and enjoyed singing in the Golden Tones Choir. She retired from Hospice, where she worked as a sitter for the terminally ill and enjoyed baking cakes for all her friends and family. In addition to her parents, her husband Roderick H. Braddy and siblings, Henrilea Camp, Jerry Clark and Milton Clark, all preceded her in death.
Avel is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Wynette Clark, Warner Robins; three nephews, Red Camp, Sebring, FL; Rusty Camp, Blue Ridge; Mark Clark, Warner Robins; four nieces, Sandra Hancock, Watkinsville; Joanne Sobol, New York City, NY; Sally Walters, Gainsville; and Kim Bailey, Perry.
