Barbara Ann Walters Tyson

Barbara Ann Walters Tyson, 76, entered into rest on Wednesday, July 3, 2013.

Mrs. Tyson was born on December 11, 1936 in Tifton, Georgia to the late Henry Arthur Walters and Wilda Templeton Walters. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Warner Robins where she was a member of the Joy Sunday School Class. Barbara retired from civil service at Robins Air Force Base where she dedicated many years of employment as Secretary for the superintendent of base schools. Her parents, her husband, John Ishmael Tyson, and brother, Billie Walters, all preceded her in death.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Phyllis Prater, Bonaire; Gregory Tyson (Beth), Warner Robins; siblings, Jackie Fargo, Orlando, Florida; Peggy Scheffler (Lee), Spring Hill, Florida; Joyce Carr, Tifton; Doyle Walters (Donna), Macon; sisters-in law, Marjorie Phelps, Lenox; Elaine Duncan, Yulee, Florida; Sharon Waller (David), Valdosta; grandchildren, Jesse Prater (Shaina), John Prater (Jessie), Nichole Griffeth (John), Jackie Wheeler; great grandchildren, Michael, Kaiden, and Riley Prater, and Ansley Griffeth; close family friend, Barry Prater; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Friday evening, July 5, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Warner Robins with entombment following in Magnolia Park Mausoleum. Memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Warner Robins, 1135 Watson Blvd., Warner Robins, Georgia 31088.
