Barbara Murphy Bickford

Barbara Murphy Bickford, 88, peacefully entered into eternal rest on July 8, 2024. Born and raised in Kathleen, Georgia, Barbara was a cherished member of her community throughout her life. She excelled academically and graduated as Valedictorian from Perry High School in 1954. Her grace and spirit were also honored when she served as Perry's princess during her school years.

Following her education, Barbara dedicated herself to a career as an Administrative Assistant in Accounting and Finance at Robins Air Force Base, where she served diligently from 1954 to 1989. Her commitment and expertise made a lasting impression in her career field.

Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Haywood and Cordelle Murphy, her loving husband, Keith Bickford and her brother, Larry Murphy (Martha). She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and warmth that will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving sons, Les Bickford (Tammy) and Kenneth Bickford (Denise); brother, Marlin Murphy; sister, Patricia Hatton; 7 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. 

The family will greet friends during a visitation on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation in the chapel. Afterward, Barbara Bickford will be laid to rest at Magnolia Park Cemetery.
