On the morning of Wednesday, October 5, 2016, Barbara Everts was called to heaven to join her beloved husband, John R. Everts. She was 75 years old.
Barbara was born on June 26, 1941 in Moline, Illinois to the late Francis and Margaret Taylor Goodness. As a young girl, she moved with her family to Schenectady, New York and then to Hollywood, Florida where she graduated from Miramar High School.
Barbara was a wonderful homemaker with many interests that kept her busy. She enjoyed bowling and making ceramics, but above all, she was an excellent mother to her three children and always took care of her family. When the children were a bit older, Barbara and her family moved to the Warner Robins area where she worked for the BX at Robins Air Force Base. St. Patrick Catholic Church was her church home.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving children, Dennis Blackburn (Emily Marrero) of Austin, Texas, and Deborah Barlow (Thomas Erla) and David Blackburn (Andi), both of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Robert, Corie, and Brian Van Epps, and Autumn and Krista Blackburn; step-grandchildren, Mathew Marrero and Omar and Adele Gonzalez; nine great-grandchildren; and sisters, Peggy Duda (Mark) of Colorado and Patricia Oakerson of Georgia.
Visitation will be Sunday, October 9th from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 10th in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. After the service, Barbara will be laid to rest in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
