Barbara J. Harrell Moore

Surrounded by loving family, on Friday afternoon, January 9, 2015, Mrs. Barbara J. Harrell Moore passed away peacefully at the Heart of Georgia Inpatient Hospice. Born in Macon in 1941 to the late James Herbert and Ruby Lee Harrell, Barbara was a 1959 graduate of McEvoy High School. A lifelong homemaker, she was wed in 1960 to the late Robert E. Moore, with whom she enjoyed 52 years of marriage.

Talented and active, Barbara enjoyed many hobbies throughout her life. In earlier years, she enjoyed watercolor painting and was an avid reader all of her life. Friends also knew her to be a devoted fan of the Atlanta Braves, whom she loved to watch play. Barbara enjoyed many, many, years playing tennis and cards. She cherished a special lifelong circle of tennis and card friends and together these ladies saw each other through all of life's joys and sorrows. She felt blessed to have these women by her side through the years and every week she would say that she couldn't wait for "Thursday Group Therapy" with the girls. Additionally, Barbara was a member of Centerville United Methodist Church.

Barbara's memory will be treasured by her loving sons, Wade Moore, Warner Robins; Brett Moore (Rebecca), Kathleen, GA; Michael Moore, Watkinsville, GA; sister, Jackie Goodin (Wallace), Rhine, GA; granddaughter, Anna Moore, Kathleen, GA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and beloved friends.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Barbara J. Moore will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Centerville United Methodist Church with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held Tuesday evening, January 13, from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at McCullough Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Drive, Warner Robins, GA, 31088.
