Barbara Jean Evans Bryant Earhart, 83, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, April 6, 2021. Born at home on Gator Creek in Laurens County on September 8, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Ottis and Elsie Evans. She attended Jones County High School until her senior year and graduated with Warner Robins High School’s Class of 1955.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Aubrey Evans (Faye); her sister, Elowese Souther (Daniel); her first husband, James Edward Bryant; and two grandchildren, Sean Carmen and Mandy Taylor. She is survived by her loving husband, Arlon Earhart of Perry; three sons, Lane Bryant (Tammy) of Hewitt, Texas, Kyle Bryant (Pam) of Warner Robins and James Earhart of Charlotte, North Carolina; four daughters, Lisa Graham of Warner Robins, Cherie Carmen of Lakeview, Ohio, and Brenda Mayer and Becky Gunter, both of Charlotte, North Carolina; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Barbara was a devoted homemaker who loved caring for her family, watching Braves baseball and listening to Gospel and Country music. She was a member of the Sonshiners Sunday School Class at Houston Lake Baptist Church, Perry.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 10, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Barbara will be laid to rest with a graveside funeral service in Magnolia Park Mausoleum at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 11, 2021, with Reverend Fred McCoy officiating. Please wear masks and practice social distancing as recommended by the CDC.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Barbara to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
