On the afternoon of Saturday, January 14, 2023, Barbara Jean Morgan, joined her Lord and Savior and was reunited with her beloved husband and son in heaven.
Barbara was born on December 7, 1940, in Rockingham, North Carolina to the late Charles and Annie Jane Ballard. She graduated in 1959 from Rockingham High school prior to moving to Fairfax, Virginia. Barbara moved to Warner Robins in 1961 where she would meet her beloved husband Steve Morgan at Young’s BBQ. Barbara and Steve were married in 1966 and began their family. Barbara worked at Citizen’s State Bank and the family cabinet shop prior to beginning her career at Robins Air Force Base, as a Program Manager, where she dedicated 20 years of service prior to her retirement. Barbara was a longtime, faithful member of Second Baptist Church where she served with the Helping Hearts ministry, Bereavement ministry, and assisted in the nursery. Barbara had a servant’s heart and always volunteered her time to others, working with local women to assist with numerous community charities. Barbara was very involved in the activities of her children and grandchildren. She could always be found cheering them on. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Steve Pierce Morgan, Sr.; son, Mark Morgan; brother, Donald Ballard and niece, Sheila Roy.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her daughter, Stephanie Dixon; stepson, Steve P. Morgan, Jr. (Pam); seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; sister, Julie Balck; brother, Rodney Ballard and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation with Barbara’s family will be Wednesday, January 18, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. The funeral service celebrating her life will be held at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Reverend Mike Slade and Dr. Jim Perdue officiating. Barbara will be laid to rest privately at Magnolia Park Cemetery.
