Barbara Pender Starnes

Barbara Pender Starnes, 73, entered into rest on Wednesday, May 23, 2012.

Barbara was born on February 27, 1939 in Unadilla, Georgia. She retired from National Bank Products and was a member of Bonaire United Methodist Church. Barbara volunteered for many civic organizations including United Way, and she also dedicated much of her time to Warner Robins Little League and to Warner Robins High School Touchdown Club. A member of the UGA Motor Home Club, she was an avid Georgia Bulldog Fan. Barbara also participated in fundraising for Christ United Methodist School and for Bonaire Elementary where she served on the PTO. Her parents, Clyde Gordon Pender and Hildred Borum Pender, preceded her in death.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving husband of fifty-five years, LaMoye "Pat" Starnes, Bonaire; children: Mark Allen Starnes (Michele), Milton, GA, Teri Lyn Knight, Hiram, GA, and Rita Starnes-Tinney, Bonaire; grandchildren: James Patrick Tinney, Anna Kathryn Tinney, Ella Grayson Starnes, and Avery Kendall Starnes; brother, Milton Gordon Pender (Carol), Groveland, NY; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Friday, May 25, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at Magnolia Park Mausoleum Chapel. Chaplain Gene Saunders will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial donations be given to Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Drive, Warner Robins, GA 31088.
