Benjamin “Benjie” G. Kirby

Benjamin “Benjie” G. Kirby, 56, passed away at the Medical Center - Navicent Health in Macon on Friday, May 7, 2021.

A Middle Georgia native, Mr. Kirby was born on September 1, 1964, in Macon, Georgia, to Peggy Green Patton and the late Donald Kirby. With honor, he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He then went on to use his wit and charm as a skilled Sales Professional at several dealerships throughout the Middle Georgia area. In his spare time, Mr. Kirby was an incredible athlete exhibiting his competitive spirit through sports. He also taught his sons to play many sports and coached their teams as they grew. Mr. Kirby was a huge fan of the University of Georgia Bulldogs, Atlanta Braves, and NASCAR. He loved music and he enjoyed listening to George Strait and Elvis, two of his favorites. Mr. Kirby also possessed a mischievous streak and where there was trouble, he was usually the ringleader. Most of all, he loved his family, especially his granddaughter who was his whole world.

In addition to his father, Mr. Kirby was preceded in death by his brother, Timothy Kirby; grandmother, Maggie Green; and step-grandfather, Marion “Pop” Patton.

His memory will forever be treasured by his sons, Benjamin Aron Kirby, Damien Kirby, and Jacob Kirby; granddaughter, Riley Caroline Kirby; mother, Peggy Green Patton (Cliff); siblings, Chris Kirby (Amy), Jami Kirby (Elena), April Chambers, Kimberly Roberts (Nick), DeAnna Kirby; half siblings, Frank Kirby, Douglas Kirby, and Beth Adams; nieces and nephews, Brandon, Brian, Jeremy, Jonathan, Emily, Kailynn, Alyssa, Avery, Lukas, Ethan, Ema; two great nieces and one great nephews; as well as many cousins, extended family members and friends.

Visitation with Mr. Kirby’s family will be Thursday, May 13, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. The funeral service celebrating his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 14, 2021, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Collins and Reverend Wayne Lenderman officiating. Following the service, Mr. Kirby will be laid to rest in Parkway Memorial Gardens.
