Bennie Carolyn Jenkins Wynn

Bennie Wynn, 87, passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2017.

Ms. Wynn was born in Monroe County, Georgia, the youngest of ten children, to the late Benjamin Ward and Annie Grubbs Jenkins. She had lived in Warner Robins since 1960 and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Warner Robins. Active in several organizations in the community including being a life member of the VFW Post 6605 Ladies Auxiliary and the Gold Star Wives of America, Ms. Wynn was also an associate life member of the American Defenders of Bataan and Corregidor and the Middle Georgia Chapter American X POW's. She was also a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post 172. Bennie Carolyn loved doing things for people—especially veterans and their families.

She was preceded in death by her husband, MSgt. William W. Wynn Jr., USAF (Ret.), a former Prisoner of War in World War II of Japan; her daughter Shirley Wynn Cook; her good friend, Lyle Leonard; and her nine brothers and sisters.

Ms. Wynn is survived by her granddaughter, Jennifer Cook Herrington (Ryan); great-granddaughter, Ryleigh Grace Herrington of Macon; son-in-law, Kenneth Cook (Pam); several nieces and nephews; and her true friend of more than 50 years, Frances Bedsole.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, January 16th in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Chad Wood will officiate. Following the service, Ms. Wynn will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Ms. Wynn to First Baptist Church Warner Robins, 1135 Watson Boulevard, Warner Robins, GA 31093 or the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 6126, P.O. Box 1185, Perry, GA 31069.
