God took His good and faithful servant, Bertha Mullis Clark, home on Monday, November 8, 2021.
Bertha was born on August 16, 1929, in Eastman, Georgia to the late Amanda and Walter Mullis. Bertha had a thirty-year accounting career at Robins Air Force Base. After she retired, she and her husband traveled extensively across the U.S. and around the world. Bertha was a devoted member of Central Baptist Church in Warner Robins, Georgia for almost fifty years. She taught an adult women’s Sunday School class for many years and was active in the Women’s Missionary Group. Bertha was a quiet and gentle person who always put others first. She exemplified true servanthood and always looked for ways to help others. After being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, Bertha moved to St. Simons Island in 2015 to be near her daughter.
Left to cherish wonderful memories of Bertha are her daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and David Perdue; grandsons, David (Danielle) Perdue III and Blake (Charlotte) Perdue; great-grandsons, Hudson, David IV and Jack; her stepson, Patrick (Ann) Clark; step-grandson, Christopher (Kristi) Clark; and step-great-grandchildren, Samuel and Senna. Her sisters, Opal Hobbs, Florie Haralson, Joann Hagler and Imogene Mullis; as well as numerous nieces and nephews also survive Bertha.
In addition to her parents, Bertha was preceded in death by her first husband, Billy Dunn; her second husband, Hoyt Clark; granddaughter, Jenna Perdue; and siblings Evelyn Roland, Claudia Floyd and Earl Mullis.
The family would like to thank the extraordinary caregivers at Marsh’s Edge on St. Simons Island, Georgia, for looking after her so well in her final years.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be made to the Rock Springs Clinic, 211 Rock Springs Road, Milner, Georgia 30257.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Magnolia Park Cemetery where Bertha will be laid to rest. Reverend Jim Perdue will be officiating.
