On the evening of Tuesday, October 17, 2017, Betty Aaron, 89, joined her beloved husband, Wilton Steven Aaron in heaven.
Born in Trenton, New Jersey, Betty was the daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth Warrington Jemison. She devoted her life to being a military wife as she faithfully served her husband and raised their daughter with unconditional love. The Aaron family traveled all over with the military and finally settled in Warner Robins 50 years ago. In Betty’s free time, she enjoyed reading, gardening, and spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her great-grandson, Aaron Glover, her sister, Mary Helen Dametch, and her stepfather, Harry Fowler.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving daughter, Stephanie Smith (Thomas) of Columbus; grandchildren, Steven and Kyra Glover, and Jillian Holley (Shelby); great-grandson, Renley Glover; and dear friends, Kathleen and Taylor Sawyer and Don and Susan English.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 24, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Following the service, Betty will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Betty Aaron to the Paralyzed Veterans of America, 801 18th Street NW, Washington DC 20006, the Humane Society of Houston County, P.O. Box 9588, Warner Robins, GA 31095, or to the Houston County Public Library System, 1201 Washington St., Perry, GA 31069.
