Betty Ann Childree Hampton

Betty Hampton, age 68, of Eastman, GA, passed away Friday, June 27, 2003 at the Baptist Medical Center Montclair in Birmingham, AL. Services will be held Tuesday, July 1, 2003 at 11:00am in the Chapel of McCullough Funeral. Interment will follow in Magnolia Park Cemetery. There will be a visitation Monday, June 30, 2003 from 7:00pm until 9:00pm at McCullough Funeral Home.

Betty Hampton was born in Macon, GA on July 15, 1934. She was retired from Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base. After retirement she volunteered as a Pink Lady at the Dodge County Hospital, was a reader for the reading program for Dodge County elementary schools, and volunteered for many other civic activities. She was a member of New Daniels Baptist Church in Eastman, GA where she served as the clerk. Her husband, James Lee Hampton Jr. and parents, George Allen and Famie Ball Childree Sr. preceded her in death.

Survivors include four stepdaughters: Janice H. Hamlin, Callahan, FL; Terry Lee Hampton, Hartford, WI; Sonja Oliver, Kathleen, GA; Cindy Lee Savaski, Hartford, WI; stepson, James Lee Hampton III, of Hartford, WI; brother, George Childree; niece, Dawn Malcom, Hamilton, AL; and many stepgrandchildren and great grandchildren.
