Betty Joe Mays

Betty Joe Beard Mays, 79, entered into rest on Sunday, November 7, 2010.

Mrs. Mays was born on August 24, 1931 in Macon. She earned her Bachelor of Art's Degree from Mercer University where she was a member of the Alpha Delta Phi Sorority. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend, she was a member of Central Baptist Church and Dorcus Sunday School Class. Her parents, Carl L. Beard, Sr., and Zulee Elder Beard, preceded her in death.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving husband, Clayton P. Mays; children, Carleen Forbes, Warner Robins, Thomas G. Mays, Houston, Texas, Karen Kennedy, Richmond, Virginia, and Michael C. Mays, Warner Robins; brother, Dr. Carl L. Beard, Jr., Warner Robins; and thirteen grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home, Reverend Charlie Bibb officiating. The family would like to invite friends to Southside Baptist Church Student Center after the service.
