Betty Oesterling, 90, joined her belated husband, Norman P. in heaven on Monday, July 2, 2018.
Betty was born in Kane, Pennsylvania on April 8, 1928 to the late Charles and Mabel Brown Weaver. Her love for people stood out as she was a much-loved caregiver for Office of the Aging. Betty was a devout parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, as well. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who deeply loved her family and church, serving them all faithfully during her lifetime.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her sons, Ronald and Stanley Confer; daughters, Mary Joan Confer-Earhart and Margaret Confer Hetrick; brother, Jim Weaver; and sister, Shirley Howard.
Betty’s memory will forever be treasured by her loving children, Charles B. Confer (Lisa) of Kathleen, Jay E. Confer (Cindy) of Erie, Pennsylvania, Elizabeth Confer of Warner Robins, Theresa Confer-McCool (Fred) of Smethport, Pennsylvania, and Patrick Confer of Brady Bend, Pennsylvania; over 50 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and siblings, June Feeger, Mary Millard, Alice Harlan, Arlene Fede, and Richard Weaver. Betty thanked the Lord every day for each and every member of her family! She was a true prayer warrior.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Monsignor Fred Nijem and Deacon Jim Hunt officiating. The family will receive friends at the church after the service. Betty will be laid to rest next to Mr. Oesterling in Andersonville National Cemetery on Friday at 12 noon.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial donations be given in memory of Betty to Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Dr., Warner Robins, GA 31088 or to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 300 S. Davis Drive, Warner Robins, GA 31088.
