Betty Sue Holton Mason

February 4, 1937 — May 23, 2021

A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Betty Sue Holton Mason, 84, passed away early on the morning of Sunday, May 23, 2021.

Mrs. Mason was born on February 4, 1937, to the late Newbern Holton and the late Callie Lumley Holton. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Warner Robins. Moving to Warner Robins in 1958, Mrs. Mason worked on Robins Air Force Base as a Budget Analyst and retired from Headquarters AFRES GS-13 after 35 years. Active in her community, she served as president of the Woodmen of the World for several years, volunteered as part of the Northside High School (Booster Club), and served as president of the Northside High School ROTC for two years. She was always there for her family and friends.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her adoring husband, James E. Mason, Sr. of Warner Robins; children, Suzanne Clarke (Mike) of Warner Robins; Sherri Arp (late Ricky) of Milledgeville; Jon Mason (Martha) of Terra Ceia, Florida; James E. Mason, Jr. of Hawkinsville; two brothers, Tommy J. Holton (Jackie) of Sandersville; and Teddy Holton (Gail) of Soperton; late sister, Billie Jean Lake (Elp) of East Dublin, Georgia; grandchildren, Jimmy Mason (Michelle), Michael Mason (Hannah), Nathan Arp (Hannah), Emily Arp, Ashley Clarke Smith (Walker), Kristen Clarke, Payne Tripp (Layla), Savannah Mason; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation with Mrs. Mason’s family will be Tuesday, May 25, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. The funeral service celebrating her life will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Following the service, Mrs. Mason will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery. For friends unable to attend at this time, the service will be streamed live via the McCullough Funeral Home Facebook page at www.facebook.com/mcculloughfuneralhome/live/.
