Betty Stallworth Sullivan

April 22, 1935 — February 1, 2025

Warner Robins

Betty Stallworth Sullivan, 89, returned home to the Lord on Saturday, February 1, 2025.

Betty was born on April 22, 1935, in Macon, Georgia, to the late Amon Julian Stallworth and Mary Elizabeth Holloway Stallworth. Raised in Wellston before it became Warner Robins, she graduated from Warner Robins High School in 1953. From a young age, Betty embodied kindness, grace, and an unwavering faith and obedience in the Lord.

A beacon of goodness and kindness, she was a longtime faithful member of First Baptist Church of Centerville, where she also founded a cherished children's ministry. Her deep love for others shone through in every aspect of her life—whether she was opening her home to those in need, caring for animals (including, at one point, a monkey), or offering a warm meal and a listening ear. Betty considered herself deeply blessed throughout her life, especially with her husband and their marriage. She was deeply dedicated to her husband and children and passed on the faith she had in the Lord to her children through the power of prayer.

Betty’s heart was as boundless as her generosity. She never complained and always found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a special love for children, nature, and the beauty of flowers and plants. In her free time, she enjoyed artistic crafts and was an extraordinary cook; she was especially known for her legendary biscuits, made with the same love and care she poured into everything she did.

Betty was truly one of a kind—a light in the lives of all who knew her. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of love, faith, and kindness will live on in the hearts of those she touched.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Arthur Eugene Sullivan, Jr., daughter, Debra Hopkins, along with five brothers, and two sisters.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Betty Jo Wade (Frank), Mary Ann Long (Eddie), Denise Sullivan, Arthur Eugene Sullivan, III (Erin), and Alethea Haight (Jeffrey), along with 13 grandchildren, many great and great-great-grandchildren, and many other loving family members and friends.

Visitation will be Monday, February 3, 2025, from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Centerville with a funeral service to immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. Afterward, Betty will be laid to rest in Centerville Cemetery beside her husband.

The family will accept flowers or donations may be given in memory of Betty Sullivan to First Baptist Church of Centerville’s Children’s Ministry at 108 Church Street, Centerville, GA 31028.

The family would like to acknowledge special friends and family including Glenda, Cathy, Jackie, Jill, Jessica, Diane, Sherry, Shirley, Adrienne and Stephanie, Gina, Will and Nyla, Shirley, and Home Health for their kindness in helping love and care for Betty in her last days.
