Beulah Pope Martin, 88, was promoted to glory on July 11, 2010.
Mrs. Martin was born in Eastman on June 12, 1922. She moved to Warner Robins in 1944 where she then spent 18 years as a nursing assistant for Peachbelt and Hallmark Nursing Homes. A member of the Salvation Army in Macon, Beulah loved travelling, sitting on her front porch, and visiting with her loving and devoted family. She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Martin; parents, Hubie and Sammie Pope; sister, Ida M. Howard; brother, Sonny Pope; and daughter, Ann Reitz.
Mrs. Martin's memory will forever be treasured by her children, Linda (Bobbie Phillips) Gillman, Warner Robins; Charles (Karen) Poole, Warner Robins; Captain Johnny (Rebekah) Poole, San Antonio, TX; Calvin (Anita) Poole, Byron; Thomas (Deborah) Poole, Macon; Pam (Terry) Bishop, Fitzgerald; sisters, Ruth (Clifton) Rich, Cairo; Inez Howard, Macon; Mary M. Smith, Chester; brother, A.J. Pope, Augusta; 25 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Monday, July 12, 2010 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services, officiated by Captain Johnny Poole and Major Fred Thornhill of the Salvation Army, will be held on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Zebulon Baptist Church Cemetery in Eastman. Memorials may be given to Heartland Hospice, 115 Arkwright Landing, Macon, 31210.
