Ms. Aldridge was born on May 29, 1925, in Auckland, New Zealand. She graduated from Auckland Teachers Training College in New Zealand and taught school in Germany, Japan, Fort Jackson, and South Carolina. Formerly an officer in the Women of the Church and Military Survivor Spouse Organizations, she was also a member of the Church Women United and the Warner Robins and Macon Duplicate Bridge Club. Her church home was First Presbyterian Church of Warner Robins. Her husband, Major Earl Aldridge, Army (Ret.); and parents, Mark Walpole and May Pickett Walpole, preceded her in death.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her son, Mark (Diane) Aldridge, Birmingham, Alabama; sister, Valerie Wolff, Auckland, New Zealand; and many other friends and family.
Visitation will be Saturday, October 3, 2009, from 10:00 a.m.until 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Warner Robins, Reverend Paula Hoffman officiating. Interment will be private at Andersonville National Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given to Cherished Children Day Care Center, 511 Myrtle Street, Warner Robins GA 31093.
