Bill Cowan, 87, passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 2007

Mr. Cowan was born on April 11, 1920 in Ashland, Ohio. He served in World War II in the United States Army. While serving, he earned a Bronze Star, Asiatic Pacific Theater, and Philippine Liberation Ribbon. He retired from Robins Air Force Base, and subsequently worked as a starter at the Houston Lake Country Club. Mount Calvary Lutheran Church is his church home. He is a member of AARP. His parents, Harry Cowan and Clara Cowan, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Rosemary Cowan, Warner Robins; sisters, Joan Bailey, Ohio, Virginia Pennington, Fort Myers, Florida, and Carolyn Smith, Tennessee; several nieces and nephews.

A memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 21, 2007 at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church with interment following in Andersonville National Cemetery, Andersonville, GA. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 336 Carl Vinson Parkway, Warner Robins, GA 31088.
